A Daytrip to Italy
March 13, 2011
Well almost. At least as close as I’ve ever come to Italy without actually hopping on a plane. A few friends and I ventured to Arthur Ave in the Bronx on Saturday. I have heard great things about the authentic food selections available, but have yet to make the trek uptown. And it was well worth it. We quite possibly may have eaten enough in that one afternoon and evening to compensate for an entire week’s worth of food. Hence why this post has an overabundance of photos, I couldn’t bare to leave anything out. After carting back as many bags as possible, we prepared a meal of some of the best cheeses, meats, calamari, pasta and desserts.

Casa Della Mozzarella. After purchasing 2 1/2 pounds of cheese, they gave us more fresh mozzarella in case we couldn't wait until we got home. Amazing,

All in Green
March 6, 2011
Hoboken hosted their annual St. Patrick’s Day parade this weekend, and to celebrate, my friend made a feast of green snacks at her apartment. Simple, yet fun, it included green chocolate covered strawberries, green creme cheese and bagels and adorable green cupcakes. And you can’t forget to include a green veggie tray and “pot of gold” jello.
Julia’s Japanese

As promised, here’s the Udon noodles and vegetable dish my roommate, Julia cooked up from our ingredients bought at the Japanese Supermarket, Sunrise Mart.
A Taste of Spring
February 21, 2011
It’s hard to believe it’s snowing out my office window right now, while Friday my roommate and I enjoyed an after work drink on our roof deck with unseasonably warm temperatures reaching into the upper 60’s. It put me in the mood to get out the fruit and make some flavored water as a little taste of spring.
Sunrise Mart
February 20, 2011
We made a stop yesterday at the Sunrise Mart, a specialty Japanese supermarket in East Village that not only has every food you could possibly want to take back with you from a holiday in Asia, but houseware items, videos and magazines. We picked up some soy sauce and noodles, so I’ll be sure to share our homecooked Japanese cuisine when it’s prepared.

Fish Friday
February 4, 2011
In the middle of a snowstorm, my roommates and I, along with some friends from our building enjoyed a local meal at Kefi. Pictured below is the Pan Seared Striped Bass. Flashing back to another amazing fish dinner, check out a home cooked Wahoo evening in Aruba not too long ago.
